⚡Quick verdict
We want everyone to be able to use this site, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, a magnifier or reduced motion. Pages aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. The moving hero can be paused and stops when your device asks for reduced motion. Hit a barrier? Tell us and we will put it right.
- Every page works with a keyboard and has a skip link.
- Animations pause on request and respect reduced-motion settings.
What we have done
- Keyboard: every link, button and tool works with Tab, Enter and the arrow keys, with a visible yellow focus ring.
- Skip link: the first Tab on any page jumps to the main content.
- Screen readers: headings in order, labelled forms and live regions on the tools, alternative text on photos.
- Motion: the home page animation has a pause button and stops if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Text: body text in Lexend, a typeface designed for reading ease, and zoom to 400% without losing content.
- Colour: text meets WCAG AA contrast against its background.
- Languages: names in other languages are marked up so screen readers switch voice.
Known gaps
- Posters in the library rows carry their titles as text, but the artwork itself is not described.
- Third-party player apps are outside our control; some are hard to use with screen readers.
