⚡Quick verdict
GSE Smart IPTV is one of the longest-running IPTV players, available for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Android. It accepts Xtream Codes log-ins, M3U links and separate EPG files, and supports both AirPlay and Chromecast. The layout is busier than newer apps, but it plays formats others sometimes reject, which makes it a good second player.
- Free with adverts; a paid upgrade removes them and adds features.
- Handles odd stream formats well.
- Supports both Chromecast and AirPlay.
Adding your service
- Install GSE Smart IPTV from the App Store or Google Play.
- Open the side menu and choose Xtream Codes API.
- Tap +, enter a name, the server URL, username and password.
- Save, then tap the new entry to load channels.
Finding things
| Menu item | Use |
|---|---|
| Xtream Codes API | Your service with live TV, films and series |
| Remote playlists | M3U links |
| EPG | Guide sources for M3U playlists |
| Parental control | PIN for chosen groups |
| Settings | Player engine, buffer, decoder |
Settings that fix most problems
- Player options → Decoder: switch between hardware and software if the picture is black but sound plays.
- Buffer size: raise it on weak Wi-Fi.
- Stream format: try the other option if a channel stalls.
Why keep it as a second app
When a channel refuses to play in your main player, try it in GSE. If it works there, the issue is the app’s decoder, not the service, and you can carry on watching while we look into it.
